My thanks go also to Peter Griffiths for the type-setting and for his inexhaustible supply of encouragement and advice as I learn the ropes, and to David Baggett for proof reading. It is with the greatest of pleasure that I here pay tribute to my predecessor, Keith Gerrish, who as well as being the first eleven scorer for Gloucestershire and an ardent supporter of Bristol RUFC, still found time to edit the Second Eleven Annual for the last 14 years. He has been a fount of knowledge, guidance and support for me as I gradually began the job last September and I thank him for that help. I wish Keith well and hope he will manage to fill his newly-acquired spare time profitably.
