Warwickshire at Welbeck Colliery. This is the first time since 2000 that anyone has exceeded 50 wickets in a season. Then Richard Green of Lancashire took 54 wickets, and Darren Altree of Warwickshire had 51 wickets. The best innings bowling figures were 8 for 45 by Bradley Kruger for MCC Universities against Middlesex at Radlett. The highest partnership was a massive unfinished 358 to enable Yorkshire to beat Leicestershire at Oakham, with Joseph Root and Jonathan Bairstow allowing Yorkshire to recover from 44 for 3. This was a Yorkshire record for any wicket. The Second Eleven Trophy was won for the third time, and first since 1994, by Yorkshire, so providing some consolation for losing in the final of the Championship. In the Trophy final they beat Lancashire by two wickets at Scarborough. The semi-finals brought straightforward wins against Hampshire and Sussex respectively. Of the 90 games, there were 14 games having no result. Sussex (366-4 v Middlesex at Uxbridge) made their highest score in the competition. The second highest score was 347-2 by Yorkshire against Worcestershire at Kidderminster, and this included a County record for any wicket of 324 unfinished for the 3rd wicket by Adam Lyth and Christopher Taylor. Nottinghamshire (62), Gloucestershire (82) and Yorkshire (92) were all dismissed for their lowest scores in the competition. Highest individual innings was 160 by Michael Thornely of Sussex against Middlesex at Uxbridge, one of three centuries he scored, contributing to the highest aggregate of 683 runs. Best bowling was 5-15 by Oliver Newby for Lancashire against Sussex at Horsham. 4
