In tl,e event of no run being obtained by any other means, then ora* run shall bo added to tho score of “ No Halls,” or “ Widr< Halls,” as the ease may be. All runs obtained for “ Wide Halls” to be scored to “ Wide Halls.” The names of the howlers who howl “ Wide Halls,” or “ ^o Hulls,” in future to be placed on the score, to show the parties by whom either score is made. I f tho ball shall first touch any part of the Striker’s dress or person (except his hands) the Umpire shall call “ Leg Bye.” X IV . At the beginning of each innings the Umpire shall call “ Play.” From that time to the end o f eacli innings no trial ball shall be allowed to any bowler. XV . The S tkiker is O ut if either o f the bails be bowled off; or if a stump be bowled out o f the ground. XV I . Or, if the ball from the stroke of the bat, or hand, but not the wrist, be held before it touch the ground, although it be bugged to the body o f the catcher. X V I I . Or, if in striking, or any other time while the ball shall be in play botli his feet shall be over the popping crease and his wicket put dow n, except his bat be grounded within it. X V I I I . Or, if in striking at the ball he hit dowrn his wicket. X IX . Or, if under the pretence o f running, or otherwise, either o f the strikers prevent a ball from being caught, the striker of the ball is out. X X . Or, if the ball be struck and be wilfully strike it again. 1 XX I . Or, if in running the wicket be struck down by a blow, or by the hand or arm (with the ball in hand), before his bat (in hand), or some part of his person be grounded over the popping crease. Hut if both bails be off a slump must be struck out of the ground. X X I I . Or, it any part of the Striker’s dress knock down the wicket. X \ III. Or, if tho Striker ton oh or take up the ball while in play, unless at tho request o f the opposite party. X X IV . Or, if with any part o f his person he stop the ball, which in the opinion of the Umpire at the bowler’s wicket, shall have .been pitched in a straight line from it to the Striker’s wicket and would have hit it. XX V. I f the players have crossed each other, he that run* lor the wicket that is put down is out. \ \ \'l. A ball being caught, no run shall be reckoned. XXVJI. Tho Striker being run out, the rim which he and hh partner were attempting shull not be reckoned.
