ACS Overseas First-Class Annual 2020
6 Acknowledgments The compilation of this Annual would be far more arduous, and would take much longer, without the support and assistance of many individuals all over the world. Without access to Cricket Archive (cricketarchive.com) , indeed, the book would not exist at all. Philip Bailey extracts the necessary information from Cricket Archive’s unmatched database and deals patiently and thoroughly with the many queries that inevitably arise as the book is compiled. Another remarkable contributor is our typesetter, Nicola Liddle of City Press Leeds, who exhibits astonishing speed and accuracy in transforming the datafiles received from Cricket Archive into clear and printable scorecards. As in previous years Keith Walmsley, Ric Finlay and John Ward gave freely of their time in checking hundreds of scorecards and providing information and suggestions at all stages of the process; Keith also contributed a large proportion of the narrative. Other contributors supplied or verified source material or pointed out errors or oversights: Robin Abrahams, David Kendix, Mohan Menon, Harriet Monkhouse, Francis Payne and Andrew Samson. I also acknowledge the use I have made of published sources both in print and on-line including Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack and ESPNcricinfo. Thanks are due to the ACS Committee for its continued support; to Gary Ingram for the ‘bowler’ image on the cover and to Zahra Ridge for other elements of the cover design; and to JohnAnderson and his colleagues at the City Press Leeds. As I shut myself day after day in my study working on the book, I must thank my wife Deborah for her patience and forbearance, and our eleven-year-old foster child Kayden Baker for his own unique comments and suggestions.
