The 278 scored by Shan Masood and Abid Ali was a new Pakistani record for the 1st wicket against Sri Lanka (previously 156 by Wajahatullah Wasti and Shahid Afridi at Lahore in 1998/99). Nadeem Shah, at the age of 16y 311d, became the second youngest to take five wickets in a Test innings; the youngest remains Nasim-ul-Ghani, aged 16y 308d, for Pakistan v West Indies at Georgetown in 1957/58 (ages in both cases on the day the feat was completed). The only other occasion in which the top four in the order in a Test innings have all scored centuries was by India v Bangladesh at Mirpur in 2007.
