ACS Overseas First-Class Annual 2019

701 Errata and Corrigenda ACS Overseas First-Class Annual 2018 11 Last year we said, “During the [2017/18] season, three 15-year-olds and ten 16-year-olds appeared in the [Afghan] domestic tournaments, and over half of those playing in them had been born since 1 January 1997.” These statements were based on the limited information regarding players’ dates of birth that was available when the 2018 Annual was prepared. Fuller information has since become available, and birth-dates are now known for 128 of the 159 who appeared in first-class matches in Afghanistan in 2017/18. Based on this more comprehensive information, the season actually featured three 14-year-olds, four 15-year- olds and 13 16-year-olds, while the proportion born after 1 January 1997 was just over 55%. Just under a quarter of those with known birthdates were born on or after 1 January 2000. 13 Ziaulhaq (Mis Ainak) should be Zia-ul-Haq (also pages 19, 22, 24). He should not be confused with the Zia-ul-Haq in the Band-e-Amir team, but he is identical with the Zia- ul-Haq in the Mis Ainak team on page 31 (also 43, 48, 58, 63). The debut marker against Zia-ul-Haq on page 31 is thus incorrect. 17 Farmanullah (Band-e-Amir) should be Farmanullah Safi (also pages 19, 44, 52, 59, 62, 64). 19 Asif Musazai, on debut for Band-e-Amir aged 14y 67d, was the youngest player to appear in first-class cricket in Afghanistan in 2017/18 (see the correction to page 64 below). 27 In Mis Ainak (2), the innings of 11 attributed to Ziaur Rahman, batting 9th, should instead be ascribed to Zia-ur-Rehman (still batting 9th). 29 Ezatullah (Boost) should be Izatullah (also page 32). 46 Jamshid Khan, aged 15y 23d, became the sixth-youngest to take 5 wickets in a first-class innings. 54 Jamshid Khan, aged 15y 39d, became second-youngest to take 10 wickets in a first-class match (behind Mohammad Sharif for Biman Bangladesh Airlines v Dhaka Division at Faridpur in 2000/01). 59 Asif Musazai, aged 14y 233d, became the fourth-youngest to score a first-class century. 64 The note describes Kamran Hotak, aged 15y 121d, as the youngest player to appear in first- class cricket in Afghanistan in 2017/18. Fuller information now available shows that this is in error (see the correction to page 19 above). 70 In New South Wales (1), Hazlewood c M.R.Marsh, not S.E.Marsh. 110 Close day 1: Sylhet (1) 114-4 (Junaid Siddique 29, Farhad Reza 7). 116 Close day 1: Rajshahi (1) 123-9 (Anwar Akbar 12, 66 overs). 177 Close day 2: Railways (1) 224-2 (Bhille 19, Ghosh 31). 206 M.D.Chaudhary (Maharashtra) should be M.G.Choudhary. 264 T.A.Blundell was on Test debut for New Zealand. 306 The note identifies Khurram Shehzad of Habib Bank as a former Rawalpindi player. This is incorrect; he was new to first-class cricket and should have received a debut marker accordingly. 429 C.Peake (Namibia) should be C.J.Peake (also page 652).
