402 South Africa in 2018/19 Early in 2019 CSA approved plans to replace the current two-tier set-up, from 2020/21, with a single 12-team provincial competition. But this did not go down well with the players, and in May 2019 the SA Cricketers’ Association started legal proceedings in a bid to frustrate a proposal that they considered to have serious adverse implications for their members, not least in financial terms.
