Mehedi Hasan's 12-159 was the best match return for Bangladesh in Tests (previously 12-200 by Enamul Haque jnr against Zimbabwe at Dhaka in 2004/05; the previous best against England was 7-131 by Shakib Al Hasan in the first Test). Mehedi Hasan's 6-77 in the second innings was also Bangladesh's best innings analysis against England, beating his own 6-80 in the first Test. The 170 added by Tamim Iqbal and Mominul Haque was Bangladesh's best for the 2nd wicket against England (previously 108 by Hannan Sarkar and Habibul Bashar at Dhaka in 2003/04). This stand represented 77.27% of the total of 220 in the Bangladesh first innings, exceeded in Tests only by the 2nd-wicket stand of 168 out of 216 (77.78%) by Sri Lanka against South Africa at Durban in 2000/01. The 99 added by C.R.Woakes and A.U.Rashid was England's best for the 9th wicket against Bangladesh (previously 47 by T.T.Bresnan and J.C.Tredwell at Mirpur in 2009/10).
