L.D.Chandimal was the selected wicketkeeper for Sri Lanka and is indicated as such above; but in the event M.D.K.J.Perera kept throughout both Australian innings and all his dismissals were taken in that capacity. The partnerships of 246 for the Australian second wicket, and 211 and 81 for the Sri Lankan sixth and eighth wickets, were records for those wickets for the respective countries in Tests between Australia and Sri Lanka.
