M.A.Wood reached 100 wickets in first-class matches when taking his 1st wicket in the Pakistan first innings. A.N.Cook's 263 was the second highest for England in Tests against Pakistan (after 278 by D.C.S.Compton at Trent Bridge in 1954); at 13 hours 56 minutes it was the third longest Test innings by time. With 0-163 in the first innings, A.U.Rashid recorded the most expensive wicketless analysis for a player on Test debut; he followed this in the second innings with the first 5-wicket return by a leg-spinner for England since 1959. The 248 added for the fifth wicket in Pakistan (1) was a new record for that wicket for Pakistan in Tests against England. 558 United Arab Emirates in 2015/16
