The partnership of 449 in Australia (1) was a new Test record for the fourth wicket (previously 437 by D.P.M.D.Jayawardene and T.T.Samaraweera for Sri Lanka v Pakistan at Karachi in 2008/09; Australia's previous best for this wicket was 388 by W.H.Ponsford and D.G.Bradman v England at Headingley in 1934). It was the sixth highest fourth-wicket stand in all first-class cricket, and the second highest in Australia.
