Acknowledgments One of the many pleasures of editing a work of this kind is the opportunity to acknowledge all the contributions that go towards making it possible. The match scorecards are derived from CricketArchive (cricketarchive.com ), a remarkable on-line resource that contains records of approaching half a million matches and much other material besides. Pete Griffiths and Philip Bailey have generously allowed free use of this information, without which the Annual would not be possible. In addition, they both offered valuable advice and dealt patiently with countless queries, while Pete also typeset the whole book.
