ACS Oveseas First-Class Annual 2013
The batting aggregates for the first-class season were led by P.G.Fulton of Canterbury with 1,249 at 59.47; he forced his way back into the Test side at the relatively advanced age of 34 and became only the fourth New Zealander to score two separate hundreds in a Test. The most prolific wicket-taker was B.J.Arnel of Northern Districts, with 52 victims at 25.78. A positive aspect of the 2012/13 Shield was the reduction in the number of draws: of the 30 matches in the programme, only 7 matches ended without a positive result, compared with 14 in 2011/12.
