M.R.Gillespie passed 1,000 runs in first-class matches when he reached 21 in the second innings. A.J.McKay reached 100 wickets in first-class matches when taking his 3rd wicket in the Otago first innings. N.Wagner completed five wickets in six balls in the Wellington first innings (Rhodes, Austin-Smellie, Patel, Tugaga, dot-ball, Gillespie), including four wickets with consecutive balls. Wagner’s four in four was the 38th instance in the history of first-class cricket, but only the second in New Zealand after A.D.Downes for Otago v Auckland at Dunedin in 1893/94. It was only the fifth example in history of a bowler’s taking five wickets in six balls, but Wagner was the first to achieve this within the span of a single over. (Five wickets also fell in an over bowled by P.I.Pocock for Surrey v Sussex at Eastbourne in 1972 but one of these was a run-out.) 238 New Zealand in 2010/11
