ACS Overseas First-Class Annual 2011
General notes to the scores There were 608 first-class matches played in the 2010/11 cricket season: all are included in this annual. Also included are 26 matches played during the 2010 season in various parts of the world; but not the 171 matches played in England and Wales in 2010, which can be found in the 2011 Wisden . The matches are arranged in eleven sections. The first covers the 2010 season. The remaining sections cover cricket in 2010/11 in the various ICC member countries, with a final section for matches played in the rest of the world. Each section begins with a short introduction, which explains the competitive context in which matches take place. For each country, the structure of the first-class season is outlined, together with final tables for competitions conducted on a league basis. A full score is provided for each match. All reasonable efforts have been made to ensure that these scores are accurate and complete, although the editor will be glad to hear of any corrections or omissions. For the great majority of matches, supplementary details are supplied, such as the batsman out at the fall of each wicket and particulars for the balls, minutes, and boundaries for individual innings. It is regretted that in some cases, it has not been possible to trace this information. A new feature this year is that full substitutions are indicated in the actual scorecard. This is done by indenting and italicising the substitute player’s name, which appears on the team list immediately after the player he replaced. In addition, the annual continues the practice, initiated last year, of showing first-class debuts by the insertion of a diesis (‡) after the name of the player in question. Brief footnotes indicate players’ career milestones and other remarkable or unusual events. Full batting and bowling averages for the 2010/11 season will be found, together with averages from the 2011 season in England and elsewhere, in the next ACS International Cricket Year Book , due to be published in March 2012. The year book will also include a complete register of all first-class matches played throughout the world during the 2010/11 and 2011 seasons, and details of all first-class players appearing in 2010/11 and 2011, including their full names, date and place of birth, and batting and bowling styles. 10
