ACS Overseas First-Class Annual 2009

Bangladesh in 2008/09 The ICC’s newest full member hosted a total of 35 first-class matches in 2008/09. International matches comprised two-Test series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka, plus a first-class match against Zimbabwe. The Bangladesh side gave an unexpectedly good account of themselves against New Zealand, losing the closely-contested First Test by only three wickets before a rain-affected draw in the Second. Against Sri Lanka, however, normal service was resumed and the visitors won both Tests easily. The other 30 games made up the principal domestic first-class tournament, the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea National Cricket League, which is contested by six teams playing each other home and away. The League was won by Rajshahi Division, narrowly ahead of Barisal.
