For Kent Freeman took 5 for 57 runs in the Staffordshire first innings and somehow was allowed to bowl 11 balls in one over, bowling Meakin with the sixth, and still going on. In the second innings he took 5 for 6, giving him match figures of 10 for 63. Collins and Le Fleming added 98 runs for the second wicket in the Kent second innings. Collins scored 70 in 90 minutes with 7 fours and Le Fleming in 135 minutes scored 85 which included 1 six and 12 fours. For Staffordshire Meakin top-scored with 49 in the first innings. In the Kent first innings Barnes took 6 for 41. Sedgwick took 4 for 55 in the first innings and 7 for 75 in the second giving him match figures of 11 for 130.
