For the home side Awty top scored with 38 whilst Wilson took 6 wickets for 22 runs. Barnes did the hat- trick, dismissing Colman, Hale, and Watson. For Norfolk Falconer took 6 wickets for 35 runs in the Staffordshire first innings and 9 wickets for 70 runs in the match. Thurgar took 3 catches in the match. The umpires were not present at the start of play, not arriving until 12.20pm. Staffordshire had made 80 for 7 wickets when stumps were drawn early with no possibility of a definite result, to enable the visitors to catch a convenient train home.
