Rain delayed the start of the match by 40 minutes on the first day. Durham were set a target of 213 in 150 minutes but never threatened to win. In June at Sunderland the teams had also played out a draw but with Durham winning on the first innings. For Glamorgan there were 10 fours in Tait’s 66 and Riches scored 58; together they put on 103 for the first wicket in the Glamorgan second innings. Riches batted for more than 2 hours for his 58. Bestwick took 6 wickets for 44 runs in the Durham first innings. For Durham there were 6 fours in Bradford’s 50. Harry took 10 wickets for 88 runs in the match, including 6 for 41 in the Glamorgan second innings during which he had a spell of 4 wickets for 1 run in 14 balls. In the Glamorgan first innings Morris took 5 wickets for 42 runs during which he had a spell of 5 wickets for 5 runs in 4 overs.
