For the winners Kitchen scored 59 with 8 fours and with Mantle added 102 runs for the ninth wicket in the first innings. Broughton took 11 wickets in the match for 73 runs including 6 for 44 in the Kent 2nd XI first innings and 5 for 29 in the second innings. Day took 5 wickets for 24 runs in the Kent second innings. For Kent Dutnall top-scored with 36 in the first innings. Freeman took 11 wickets in the match for 120 runs including 5 for 66 in the Lincolnshire first innings and 6 for 54 in the second. In the Lincolnshire first innings C J Nevile retired injured having scored 8 with the score at 17, returning after the fall of the sixth wicket. In the second innings he retired injured having scored 9 and returned after the fall of the 8th wicket. In both cases he had been hit by express deliveries from Hickmott.
