For Staffordshire Wilson and Morgan bowled out Durham in their first innings in an hour and fifty-five minutes. The Durham second innings lasted an hour and ten minutes. Morgan took 11 wickets in the match for 52 runs including 6 for 24 in the first innings. Heath took six catches in the match and in the Durham second innings he took 4 wickets for 6 runs including a hat-trick (Breed, Harry, and Hudson). Morgan scored 31 not out in a tenth wicket partnership of 37, his innings including 2 sixes and 4 fours. For Durham Morris and Harry each took 5 wickets in the Staffordshire innings for 66 and 45 runs respectively. The top scorer in each innings was Maynard with 14 and 12 respectively.
