Missing Details There are three matches in which the bowling analyses were partly incomplete. The matches concerned are:- Match 6 - between Hertfordshire and Suffolk at Hertford: the Hertfordshire bowling in both of Suffolk’s innings is partly missing. Match 42 - between Monmouthshire and Glamorgan at Newport: the Monmouthshire bowling in Glamorgan’s innings is missing. Match 52 - between Monmouthshire and Cornwall at Newport: the Monmouthshire bowling in both of Glamorgan’s innings is missing. Unfortunately, it is not possible to calculate the missing analyses from the end of season averages. There are also six instances where bowling analyses did not add correctly. The matches concerned were:- Match 6 – between Hertfordshire and Suffolk at Hertford: the Hertfordshire bowling in Suffolk’s second innings is 3 runs short and the Suffolk bowling in Hertfordshire’s innings is 9 runs short. Match 15 – between Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire at St Albans: the Hertfordshire bowling in Bedfordfordshire's innings adds 2 runs over. Match 28 – between Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire at Bletchley: the Buckinghamshire bowling in Wiltshire's second innings is 4 runs short. Match 43 – between Berkshire and Dorset at Reading: the Berkshire bowling in Dorset’s first innings is 1 run short. Match 52 – between Monmouthshire and Cornwall at Newport: Cornwall’s bowling in Monmouthshire’s innings is 2 runs too many. Match 87 – between Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire at Luton: Hertfordshire’s bowling in Bedfordshire’s second innings is 3 runs too many. The Averages As in previous years the averages are provided in two forms – by county and by player. In both cases they are listed in alphabetical order. 466 players took part in the season, compared with 472 in 1913 and 454 in 1912. In the averages the symbol * indicates a not out innings, + denotes a player making his debut for his team in 1914, of which there were 155, and a name in bold denotes a player making his final appearance for his team in 1914, of which there were 274. An addendum and corrigendum for previous seasons, which list details found since the previous issue, is included after the statistical survey of the season.
