The match between these two sides at Folkestone in June was drawn with no decision on first innings. For Kent Heslop top-scored, making 23 in both innings. Hickmott took 14 wickets for 58 runs in the match, including 6 for 31 in the Monmouthshire first innings and 8 for 27 in the second, during which he and Smith bowled unchanged.
