For the winners there were 6 fours in Tait’s 51; his half-century took 50 minutes. Gibbs retired hurt with the score at 101-2 after being hit by a ball from F G Phillips and returned at 150-3. Creber took 5 wickets for 31 runs in Monmouthshire’s second innings and also took 3 catches in the match. For the losers Maltby top-scored in both innings, carrying his bat in the first for 77 (his 50 coming up in 1 hour and 50 minutes), and scoring 59 in the second. F G Phillips took 6 wickets for 93 runs in Glamorgan’s first innings. In their second innings Monmouthshire lost their last 4 wickets for just 1 run and their last 7 wickets for 19 runs; during this innings Tait injured a finger and Monmouthshire’s Carter came on as a substitute.
