They scored the 7 runs required for victory in just 5 minutes, winning with 15 minutes to spare. This was despite there being no play after lunch on the first day due to rain. For the winners Churton scored 64 and there were 3 sixes in Hales’ 51; they added 88 runs for the eighth wicket. Smoker took 10 wickets for 98 runs in the match, including figures of 6 for 25 in Monmouthshire’s second innings. Barrell took 6 wickets in the match for just 22 runs in only 13 overs, contributing significantly to Cheshire’s win. Tipping made 3 dismissals in the match and Barrell took 3 catches. For the losers Silverlock top-scored in both innings with 49 and 19 and also had figures of 5 wickets for 93 runs in Cheshire’s first innings. Lewis took 3 catches.
