Surrey 2nd XI won on the first innings. Play was severely curtailed on the first day; lunch was taken at 1.00 pm when rain stopped proceedings and, although play recommenced at 3.00 pm, only a further 15 minutes were possible. For the home side Gillespie top-scored in both innings with 57 in the first and an unbeaten 55, an innings of just 70 minutes, in the second. Blacklidge took 7 wickets for 47 runs in Glamorgan’s first innings. For the visitors Morris scored 51, whilst Creber took 6 wickets for 100 runs in Surrey’s first innings.
