Hendren took 7 for 82 in the Northumberland first innings and Morris 8 for 53 in the second. For Northumberland Milne took 7 for 55 in the Durham first innings and 4 for 77 in the second giving him match figures of 11 for 132. Northumberland’s W W Meldon and C F Stanger-Leathes, originally selected, were involved in a motor accident on the previous Saturday and were replaced by Anderson and Nesbit.
