Michael Pearce - A Tribute by Tony Webb When setting up the Minor Counties Match Scores project in 1999, I needed to find a county statistician to cover Surrey 2nd XI, I was recommended to approach Michael Pearce, a longstanding Surrey County Cricket Club member who was the leading light in the Surrey match scores group. Without any hesitation he agreed to serve and over the next 10 years produced match scores for the County, many in his excellent handwriting using as sources the Surrey County Cricket Club Yearbook and the British Library newspaper collection, then housed at Colindale.
