The match between the two sides at Northwich earlier in the month had also been won by Lincolnshire. For the winners Riley scored a chanceless 138 with 3 sixes and 16 fours. In the second innings he added 67 runs with Worman for the eighth wicket, 68 runs with Eaitch for the ninth wicket and 71 runs with White for the tenth. Riley also took 6 wickets for 42 runs in the Cheshire first innings. Nevile took 5 wickets for 33 runs in the Cheshire second innings. Rose kept wicket in the Cheshire second innings because White received an injury to his hand when batting in the Lincolnshire second innings which prevented him taking further part in the match. For Cheshire Smoker scored 86 and added 125 runs for the ninth wicket with Parry in the second innings. Williams took 5 wickets for 27 runs in the Lincolnshire first innings.
