The match between the two sides at Woodhall Spa in July had been won by Lincolnshire. Lincolnshire played with 10 men. For Lincolnshire Nevile scored 73, Rose 68 with 11 fours and Thompson 63. Nevile and Hemingway added 75 runs for the seventh wicket in the first innings. In the Kent first innings Pullein took 5 wickets for 25 and Geeson took 5 for 56. For Kent Troughton scored 106 not out in an innings of 3¼ hours. 103 runs were added for the sixth wicket in the Kent second innings by Troughton and Draper. Preston took 5 wickets for 45 runs in the Lincolnshire second innings.
