The match between the two teams at Trowbridge the previous week had been won by Glamorgan by an innings and 155 runs. Rain delayed the start on the second day until 1.00 pm and the Glamorgan second innings finished at 4.20 pm leaving Wiltshire to get 217 in 2 hours to win. For the home side there were 11 fours in Bancroft’s 85. Maxwell took 5 wickets for 63 runs in Wiltshire’s first innings and Hacker took 5 wickets for 21 runs in their second. For the visitors Newman top-scored with 42. Overton took 8 wickets for 102 runs in the match whilst Davenport took 3 catches.
