The match between the two sides at Truro in July was also won by Kent. For the winners Collins scored 72, including 10 fours, the only half-century in the match. Freeman took 10 wickets in the match for 52 runs, including 5 for 22 in the Cornwall first innings and 5 for 30 in the second. For Cornwall Tresawna, with innings of 43 and 30, top-scored in both innings. Whiting took 13 wickets in the match for 139 runs, including 8 for 80 in the Kent first innings and 5 for 59 in the second. In the Cornwall second innings five batsmen were dismissed without scoring. This was the first use of the ground for a Championship match. [Missing: Toss; umpires; extras breakdown; close of play not out batsmen and scores; both second innings batting orders; in Kent first innings all sources give Whiting bowling 32.5 overs with the rest bowling only 30 between them.] Sources: Kent Year Book 1913, p 230-231; Gravesend and Northfleet Standard 13 August; South Eastern Gazette 13 August; Royal Cornwall Gazette 15 August; Western Daily Mercury 10,12 August; Cricket 17 August, p 433. 90
