For the winners, Falconer took 13 wickets in the match for 95 runs, including 7 for 68 in the Suffolk first innings and 6 for 27 in their second innings. Fulcher scored 64 with 12 fours, the debutant Prior scored 63, and Birkbeck 60 with 11 fours. In the Norfolk innings Prior and Gibson added 58 runs for the eighth wicket. For the losers, the debutant Lake scored 53. In the Norfolk innings Bassett took 6 wickets for 117 runs. In the Suffolk first innings Lake and Penfold added 65 runs for the seventh wicket. Suffolk were handicapped through injuries, in the Norfolk innings Trudgett splitting his finger in attempting to catch Fulcher when the score was 80 for one wicket, and Penfold was described in the Norfolk press as being “scarcely in a fit condition to bowl.”. Randell was dismissed first ball in both the Suffolk innings.
