It was their first win over Devon since a pre-championship match in 1889. In their first innings Tresawna top-scored with 63 and in their second innings Vibart made 77 which included 4 sixes and Trevarthen 89 not out. Tresawna and Vibart added 107 for the second wicket and Trevarthen and Barnes saw their side to victory with an unbroken eighth wicket partnership of 74 in the second innings. On his home ground, Escott took 11 wickets for 99 runs in the match including 5 for 13 in Devon’s first innings and 6 for 86 in the second. For Devon, Conde-Williams scored 93 not out in their second innings. Light took 5 wickets for 33 runs in the Cornwall first innings.
