They were Gillespie with 78 including 12 fours, Bell 75 containing 7 fours, Skinner 71 including 5 fours, Stanger-Leathes 65 including 7 fours, and Milne 60 containing 1 six and 7 fours scored in only 40 minutes. In the Northumberland innings Stanger-Leathes and Gillespie put on 112 runs for the third wicket, Bell and Skinner 118 for the sixth wicket, and Skinner and Milne 80 runs for the seventh wicket. For Durham, Bradford top scored with 57 which included 2 sixes and 7 fours. In the Northumberland innings, Stanger-Leathes strained his left thigh when his score was 42 and Wilkinson came out to act as his runner.
