MInor Counties Championship 1912

MATCH NUMBER 79: SUFFOLK V SURREY 2 ND XI At The Town Ground, Dellwood Avenue, Felixstowe on Friday 23 [no play], Saturday 24 [no play] August 1912 Result: Match abandoned without a ball bowled Points: None awarded Umpires: Not known Suffolk T E M Battersby + P P Cornell P S Driver V F Gaby E S Lock K D Murray Penfold, W Trudgett, F G * A K Watson F P Wood S H Wrinch Surrey 2 nd XI Selected team not known Notes: Heavy and continuous rain from early on Friday prevented any play taking place on either day in this prospective return match. The match between the two sides at The Oval the previous month had been won by Surrey 2 nd XI. Sadly, this was Trudgett’s benefit match. It was reported that the Suffolk Secretary, P P Cornell, would keep open a list so that those who had intended to contribute to Trudgett’s benefit fund by attending the match, could now do so through alternative means. Of the Suffolk team K D Murray would have made his debut for Suffolk. He did not appear in a later match.
