The match between the two sides at Exeter the previous week had been won by Devon. There was no play after lunch on the first day due to rain. Owing to the sodden state of the wicket a fresh pitch was prepared on the second day. For Dorset, Bolton’s 90, which was the only half-century of the match, contained 4 fours. Busk took 5 wickets for 44 runs in the Devon innings. For Devon Conde-Williams’s innings of 34 not out was the top score. Fishwick took 5 wickets for 36 runs, including a spell of 5 wickets for 7 runs, in the Dorset first innings.
