On the first day, rain stopped play at 5.30 pm. On the second, ‘a very strong wind split the screen sheet at the far end’. For the winners, W A Williams scored 57 and Hudden 54 not out. In the Monmouthshire first innings, Hudden and W A Williams added 100 runs for the eighth wicket. Williams had been dropped when his score was 4. In the Cornwall first innings, F G Phillips took 8 wickets for 14 runs. For the home side, Lubbock top-scored with 47, which included 8 fours. In the Monmouthshire second innings, Whiting bowled 7 overs and 6 maidens for just 1 run.
