On the first day, a heavy thunderstorm broke over the ground at the start of the lunch interval and, with the rain continuing, the cricket was abandoned for the day at 4.45 pm with less than two hours of play. On the second day, there were hopes of a start at 1.30 pm after an early lunch had been taken, but further rain ended the chance of any further play.
