The match between the two teams at Penzance had also been won by the Welsh County. For the winners, there were 22 fours in Riches 120, scored in 130 minutes, and 16 fours in W J Bancroft’s 109, an innings of 128 minutes. Riches and W J Bancroft put on 190 runs for the second wicket in 128 minutes. For Cornwall Vibart’s 50 not out contained 8 fours, 1 five and 1 six. Trevarthen fell ill overnight and did not bat on the second day. J Bancroft hurt his thumb and Riches kept wicket for Glamorgan in the Cornwall second innings. The match was played in glorious weather on both days.
