Of the bowlers WIlliam Penfold took 31 wickets at 14.61, whilst the captain, Philip Cobbold, who only played in two matches, took 21 wickets at 7.42: what might have been the outcome had he played in the other six matches? The season saw the first use of the Woodbridge School Cricket Ground as a venue for a championship match.
