The match between the two sides at Jesmond in June had also been won by Lancashire 2 nd XI. The home side needed 123 runs to win in their second innings. For the winners, Heap took 11 wickets in the match for 91 runs, and Rowlands the other nine for 72. For Northumberland, Milne played the highest innings of the match with 43. He also performed the hat-trick to finish off the Lancashire 2 nd XI first innings, his victims being Sharp, Rowlands and Blomley. In the Northumberland first innings, Ullathorne and Milne added 56 for the seventh wicket.
