Minor Counties Championship 1907
17 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS This publication is the product of a considerable team effort. The County Statisticians for the 21 teams that participated in the 1907 Championship have been: Bedfordshire Tony Webb Berkshire Roy New Buckinghamshire Douglas Miller Cambridgeshire Colin Munford Cornwall Michael Weeks Devon Harold Shaw Dorset Michael Pearce Durham Brian Hunt Glamorgan Andrew Hignell Hertfordshire James Wright Lancashire 2nd XI Tony Martin Lincolnshire Colin Munford Monmouthshire Cyril Waite Norfolk Stephen Musk Northumberland Barry Greenbank Staffordshire Tony Percival Suffolk Colin Munford Surrey 2nd XI Michael Pearce Wiltshire Michael Pearce Worcestershire 2nd XI Andrew Lowe Yorkshire 2nd XI Paul E Dyson Others not listed above who have contributed to this book are David Harvey and Howard Clayton . The appreciation of colleagues for the assistance given by the County Record Offices and County Libraries up and down the country must be recorded, as must that of the National Archive at Kew and, most particularly the staff at the British Newspaper Library at Colindale, North London. The scores produced by the project are recognised as the official scores for the championship by both the Minor Counties Cricket Association and the Association of Cricket Statisticians. For the first six issues, the compilation of the averages was done “by hand” by the County Statisticians supported by Andrew Lowe. Since the 1901 issue, the scores have been put on the CricketArchive computer database by Peter Griffiths , which has considerably reduced the work burdens on the County Statisticians for the compilation of the averages, whilst continuing to ensure high standards of accuracy. The valuable contribution to later volumes by Philip Bailey must also be recorded. This book is the first one to be produced without the editorship of Tony Webb (see appreciation at the back of the 1906 book). However very pleasingly Tony has continued to provide guidance on matters and has willingly answered a number of queries put to him. With no- one volunteering to replace Tony’s role in its entirety, this book has been the result of a team effort. J ulian Lawton Smith has overseen the production of the book through its lifecycle and the major contributors to this volume have been Peter Griffiths , Stephen Musk , and Colin Munford . Peter agreed to be the recipient of all the scorecard amendments and has updated them prior to generating the vast array of statistics that are a major part of the book. He has also continued to be responsible for the typesetting of the books. Stephen reviewed the available MCCA minutes and newpaper reports for 1907 and has written the bulk of this
