Their fixture list reduced from twelve matches to eight as Cornwall and Dorset replaced Durham, Surrey 2nd XI, Northumberland and Wiltshire. After defeating Surrey 2nd XI in the semi-final they were unable to overcome Lancashire 2nd XI in the final at Cardiff. Norman Riches was for the third year running the leading batsman scoring 613 runs at 51.08 compared with 403 at 25.18 in 1906. Joseph Brain, the wicket-keeper, besides scoring 355 runs at 32.27 caught sixteen and stumped twenty batsmen. Although Harry Creber took 73 wickets at 13.54 this was 30 fewer than in 1906. Jack Nash obtained 70 wickets at 11.27. Career milestones reached during the season were three thousand runs by Joseph Brain, two thousand runs by Norman Riches, six hundred wickets by Harry Creber, three hundred wickets by Jack Nash and one hundred matches by Billy Bancroft.
