Wiltshire had also won the match played between the two teams in July at Stourbridge. On the first day rain at 2.30 pm delayed the start of the Wiltshire innings until 5.15 pm. For the winners, Smart took 10 wickets in the match for 96 runs. In the Worcestershire second innings, Newman performed the hat-trick, his victims being Stinton, Williams and Solly. The last five wickets fell at the same total of 58. For the visitors, there were 10 fours in Bache’s 89, and Solly took 9 wickets for 59 runs.
