When the teams met at Camborne in June, the result had also been a draw. Only ten minutes play was possible on the first day before rain stopped play after 10 runs had been scored and, though the rain stopped around 3.00 pm, the wicket did not dry. At 4.50 pm it was decided to abandon play for the day and bring the start forward to 10.45 am on the second day. On the second day, rain prevented play until after lunch. The pitch favoured the bowlers over the batsmen. The Monmouthshire second innings collapse had several players changing back into their cricket gear. Another version shows Stedman not out 2, Trevarthen conceding 9 runs and the total 22 in the Monmouthshire second innings. [Missing: Umpires; extras breakdown; in Monmouthshire second inings fall of first to fourth wickets.] Sources: South Wales Argus 14,15,16 August; South Wales Daily News 15,16 August; South Wales Weekly Argus 17 August; Cornish Telegraph 22 August; Royal Cornwall Gazette 22 August; Western Daily Mercury 15,16 August; Western Mail 15,16 August; The Sportsman 15,16 August.
