The Surrey declaration left Glamorgan a second innings victory target of 242 runs in 2½ hours. For the visitors, Creber took 10 wickets in the match for 214 runs. The 214 runs he conceded were the most in a match during the season, and a new Championship record, exceeding his own record of 213 runs for Glamorgan against Surrey 2 nd XI the previous year, also at The Oval.
