Shortly after lunch on the second day play was halted by a shower when Buckinghamshire had lost five wickets in their second innings. A resumption was not made until after 5.00 pm. For the victors, Wharmby took 13 wickets in the match for 113 runs, including 7 wickets for 66 runs in the Buckinghamshire second innings. Orr scored 70 and Wharmby 59 not out. In the Bedfordshire first innings, they added 78 runs for the seventh wicket. For Buckinghamshire, Vickerstaff took 7 wickets for 86 runs in the visitor s’ first innings. Wright top -scored with 40.
