Cornwall gained two points for first innings lead, due to a last wicket partnership of 39 runs by the Goldsworthy brothers. For the home te am, there were 12 fours in Coad’s 86. For the visitors, Waters took 10 wickets in the match for 113 runs. Bristowe scored 83, which included 12 fours, Watts 83 and Coulson played two innings of 81 and 56. In the Cambridgeshire first innings, Coulson and Crouch added 80 runs for the ninth wicket, which was the second highest for that wicket during the season, and in the second innings Coulson and Watts put on 132 runs for the fifth wicket, which was the highest partnership for that wicket during the season. The two substitute catches in the Cambridgeshire second innings were held by H A Hancock.
