Rain prevented play on the second day between lunch and 4.35 pm. For the home team, E S Phillips scored 162 with 18 fours, 10 threes and 11 twos in 220 minutes, Robathan scored 103 not out with 13 fours, 1 three and 8 twos, and Tatham 62 with 2 fives and 6 fours.
